Mr Raghunath Kedia did his Chemical Engineering and  started a business along with his brother. They started the business with an investment of Rs 30,000. They grew their business at a consistent pace. After about 3 decades into the business they had gained leadership position in their segment. Had flourishing offices in Nariman Point, the top business district in Mumbai. They had 3 large factories measuring 50,000 sq. ft. 

The next generation had also started to join the business. Mr Raghunath Kedia’s brother's son was the first to join. The transitioning of the next generation was not a smooth affair. There were differences in the decision making styles and it brought quite some discomfort in the management.

Some of the business investments did not pay off and they incurred losses. In the early 2000s the business started to take a downward turn. They faced challenges on multiple fronts. They faced labour union troubles and were forced to shift a well settled unit to Gujarat. The fast paced growth had led to high debt accumulation and now it started to put tremendous pressure on the cash flow. 

Mr Raghunath Kedia was steadfast and was willing to deal with the situation with utmost integrity. He diluted all his investments and assets and paid off all the debts. By then Mr Raghunath Kedia was already in his late 50’s. This was a very very emotionally draining period but at no point he lost the zest for life.

After all of this when people think of retiring or giving up Mr Raghunath Kedia at the age of 60 yrs  prepared to start all over again. He had the same child-like enthusiasm and zeal. His sons also took charge with him and they started rebuilding the organization. They acquired a small plot measuring 1560 sq ft in Ambernath MIDC and started the operations. 

They set up a strong R & D vertical and made good inroads in the biodiesel sector. They developed a talented team and started to serve some of the top clients in India and abroad. The revival was planned in a meticulous manner.

The relationship between Mr Raghunath Kedia and his sons was very mature. The mutual understanding and trust between each other was one of the key factors behind the successful revival of Kedia Organics Chemical Pvt Ltd. 

Today Kedia Organic Chemicals Pvt Ltd is one of the leading players in the biodiesel sector.
