Mr. Manish Jain was born in the ancient Rajasthani town of Bhinmal. Bhinmal is around 500 kilometres from Jaipur, the state capital. He belongs to a Marwari business family. Mr. Manish Jain was an excellent student with a strong interest in academics. However, the level of education in Bhinmal was inadequate, and so, after completing his tenth standard, he relocated to Mumbai to continue his education. In 2006, he received his Bachelor of Commerce from the famous Mithibai College.

Mr. Manish Jain was fascinated by mathematics and accountancy. He decided to pursue a Chartered Accountancy Course and was one of the few to clear all of his exams on the first attempt. In 2008, he passed the CFA Program's three-part exam in his first attempt to become a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Citibank offered Mr. Manish Jain his first position as a Credit Research Analyst. He contributed to the preparation of financial forecasts, financial spreadsheets, and financial updates for credit reviews, internal rating, and deal-related objectives. He worked nearly a year in this position at Citibank.

Mr. Manish's expertise was recognised by CRISIL, who offered him a position as a rating analyst in their organisation. The first credit rating agency in India, CRISIL is one of the leading Indian analytical companies providing ratings, research, and risk and policy advising services. In December 2008, Mr. Manish Jain accepted this offer and joined the team. His primary responsibility was to evaluate bank loan rating bids for a variety of mid- and large-sized corporations. The experience provided him with business model insights and understanding. He learned several ways for mitigating industry, company, liquidity, and associated risks. Within three years, he was recognised as one of the most knowledgeable minds in the financial rating industry.

During this time, Mr. Jain also witnessed a significant shift in the lending business. As opposed to lending based on the name or reputation of the management, the lending business was becoming more open, scientific, and performance-oriented. He understood that companies can reduce their interest cost burden if they have an adequate financial rating. This requirement was considerably more pressing for the SMEs. Manish, then 24 years old, decided to follow this possibility in 2010 by establishing Finmen Advisors Pvt. Ltd.

When he first began his entrepreneurial journey, the young Manish faced the task of establishing a market for his services. The rating services industry itself was in its infancy, and he now had to convince clients to utilise rating advisory and consulting services. To address this difficulty, he adopted a fee structure that was largely success-based. The value of his services were proved in a very tangible and quantifiable manner. This strategy assisted him in gaining the trust of his clients, and word began to spread throughout the SME community. Within a short period of time, his clientele expanded across all industries.

As his clientele grew, he was now faced with the formidable task of recruiting skilled employees. Given that it is a specialized services business, it is essential to have the competent personnel to meet client expectations. Mr. Jain adopted a philosophy of laissez-faire to attract the brightest minds in the sector. He established a culture of reliance and trust. He did not micromanage or become overly involved, nor did he provide excessive instruction or direction. Instead, he let his team use their creativity, resources, and expertise to achieve their goals.

Due to his background and knowledge, Mr. Manish Jain chose to grow organically and in a prudent manner. Finmen Advisors began expanding to other cities. Their offices are currently located in Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Pune, Ahmedabad, Nagpur, Kolkata, and Raipur. Approximately 800 to 900 clients are served annually, and they have assisted in saving significant amounts of money on interest costs. Finmen Advisors has a team of more than 120 workforce, and most of them have been here for a long time. Finmen Advisors has the distinction of introducing a new category to the financial rating sector.

As a subject matter expert, you are the "doer," but as a leader, you are responsible for overseeing the work of others and ensuring that client promises are delivered. To be successful in this transition, one must develop abilities including critical and creative thinking, dispute resolution, communication, compassion, empathy, adaptability, time management and many more.

Mr. Manish Jain's journey from subject matter expert to business leader has been filled with obstacles and difficulty, but it has been remarkable nevertheless.
