Mr Jagdish Nayak was raised in a one room kitchen in Versova Koliwada. Throughout his childhood, his family did not have a consistent source of income. His family relocated to Vashi, Navi Mumbai, in 1977, in search of a more inexpensive education. He used to distribute newspapers and milk in the mornings before attending college lessons and practicals.

Many of his pals made light of the circumstance, but Mr Jagdish Nayak seemed unconcerned. He completed his Bsc in Microbiology in 1987. Unfortunately, there were not many employment  opportunities available for his qualifications in those times. He was advised to pursue a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology. He worked as a technician in a small lab for a few months after finishing the course.

Airoli was an upcoming locality in Navi Mumbai. Patients had to travel to Vashi to get their blood samples checked because there was no blood test lab in the area. Mr Jagdish Nayak saw an opportunity and decided to open a lab in Airoli. He needed money to buy equipment and hence applied for a loan. He did not match the bank's loan qualifying conditions, hence his loan was denied.

Mr Jagdish Nayak did not want to miss out on the opportunity, so he pursued every conceivable source of funding. Many individuals were moved by this young man's dedication and drive. Three family friends agreed to be his guarantors, and his loan of Rs 60,000 was eventually approved.

Mr Jagdish Nayak opened his first laboratory at Airoli, Navi Mumbai, in 1990. He was 23 years old at the time. Because he couldn't afford an aide in the beginning, he did everything himself, including cleaning and upkeep. Mr Jagdish Nayak was devoted to his work.

He used to work 14-15 hours a day in his laboratory. Mr Jagdish Nayak's test reports were favorably accepted by both doctors and patients. He developed a reputation for his work.Mr Jagdish Nayak's clientele developed quickly, and many doctors and patients chose his lab as their preferred one.

Mr Jagdish Nayak married Ms Jyoti, who was from the same background, in 1995. Mrs Jyoti Nayak helped him oversee the company, and Mr Jagdish Nayak was able to seek out for additional expansion. The lab practice grew, and they were now opening centres in different localities.

By 2004, Mr Jagdish Nayak had experienced fast growth and had established himself as the dominant player in Airoli. He also got into a very strong financial position. He became a little complacent during the next few years. He made numerous investments in various enterprises,taking away his focus from the core business

From 2004 to 2008, every move of Mr Jagdish Nayak backfired. His lab operations were significantly impacted, he ended up with massive debts as a result of his losses in those unrelated investments. It was a big setback for Mr Jagdish Nayak, shaking him from head to toe. His employees also deserted him.

In 2008, Mr Jagdish Nayak decided to discontinue all unconnected enterprises and concentrate solely on his core business. He reassembled his team and began devoting all of his time to the business.. It took about 6 years to get back into shape. He paid off all of his debts.

CTL now operates blood test centers in Navi Mumbai, Thane, and Raigad. Mr. Jagdish Nayak is investing extensively in technology and has set the goal of becoming a PAN India player.

One must accept responsibility for his/her own conduct. Success or failure is determined by how much we take responsibility for our actions. Instead of making excuses, we should get out there and shape our own destiny. Mr Jagdish Nayak always took complete responsibility and control of his own education, his own career chance by starting a lab at the age of 23, and rebuilding his organization after a major setback.
