Mr. Hriday Nath Bhat was born in Kashmir's Baramulla district. Due to safety worries in Baramulla, his family opted  to relocate to Srinagar, where he completed his education. Mr. Hriday Nath Bhat studied mechanical engineering at Srinagar's National Institute of Technology (NIT). Academically, he was an able student.

After completing his engineering degree in 1971, he joined HMT as an trainee. The HMT factory was the first public sector enterprise to be established in Jammu & Kashmir. Within a few months, he was promoted to engineer and then worked in multiple departments. He rose through the ranks.

HMT previously imported 16% of its spare components from Japan. To boost local manufacture in 1985, the government implemented strategies and programmes to produce local components.

Mr. Hriday Nath Bhat was given the opportunity to start his own business in 1986 when he was selected to establish a components production unit for HMT. He was in his mid-thirties and had approximately 15 years of experience with HMT at the time. Within five years, he expanded his operations and achieved financial success.

But in 1990, due to the genocide in Kashmir, Mr. Hriday Nath Bhat, a Kashmiri Pandit, and his family were forced to migrate to Jammu. After a few years in the refugee camp, he was forced to choose between taking up odd jobs and restarting his manufacturing operation. Mr. Hriday Nath Bhat made the perilous journey to Kashmir and retrieved his machinery. He also encountered insurgents and managed to escape.

Mr. Hriday Nath Bhat began his operations in Jammu and quickly recovered the lost time. But by the late 1990s, the mechanical watch industry was in a state of decline, presenting Mr. Hriday Nath Bhat with a formidable challenge. The industrial expansion in Jammu was essentially stationary. In 2000, he relocated his entire operation to Pune. He began his business in Pune with a new partner.

Mr. Hriday Nath Bhat was only able to bring two machines from Jammu. As the watch industry declined, he moved his focus to the production of auto components. He performed the necessary modifications to the machine himself. In a few years, they gained significant ground and became well-established in Pune.

In 2007, Mr. Hriday Nath Bhat faced yet another significant career setback. His partner severed the partnership and moved away with all the installed machines. Mr. Hriday Nath Bhat was in his mid-fifties at this time. Mr. Hriday Nath was uncertain as to how he would handle the situation, but he always had faith in himself. He was determined to start from scratch. He returned to the two machines and reached out to auto component manufacturers. Mr. Hriday Nath Bhat's superior technical expertise enabled him to gain the client's trust, and he began to receive orders.

Gabril Industries has established itself as a manufacturer of high-precision components and currently serves some of the nation's leading automakers. It began with two machines and currently has a total of twenty-four. The daughter of Mr. Hriday Nath Bhat has joined Gabril Industries. Mr. Hriday Nath Bhat's goal is to reach a revenue of Rs 100 Cr. and get listed on the stock exchange.
